What's new in this version

Version 1.0.4 now supports searches on 43 different Top Level and Country Code domains. The new additions are .me (tons of great names available) and .asia (also with a lot of opportunity).

This version also introduces new version notifications, letting you know when an update is available. To check for new versions manually, simply reload the widget by clicking it, then pressing Command + R on your keyboard.
Version 1.0.3 of Domain Name Grabber now allows for searches on more than 40 different Top Level and Country Code domains. The new additions are .eu for residents of the European Union, and .mobi, intended for use with websites and applications designed for mobile network devices such as the Apple iPhone. This version is also 29% lighter than previous releases, weighing in at approximately 96KB.
Version 1.0.2 adds the following top-level domains to the list of domains searchable via Domain Name Grabber:
.am, .fm, .ag, .gs, .ms, .nu, .sc, .tc, .tk, .vg
With version 1.0.1, Domain Name Grabber is now Universally Compatible.

In addition, the following top-level domains are now searchable via Domain Name Grabber:

How does the Domain Name Grabber work?

Once you download and install the Domain Name Grabber Widget, you'll be able to access it by activating Dashboard, a feature of Mac OS X, introduced in version 10.4 Tiger. Simply type the domain you want into the text field, select the extension you prefer, and click "GO!". Your default web browser will open and display the availability of the domain you want. If it's already taken, you can backorder the name, look up the current domain registrant in the WHOIS database, or choose from a list of similar available domain names.

Installing Domain Name Grabber

At this time, Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard is required. If you're using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

If you're using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

Note: You can also drag the widget from the Widget Bar and place it on the Dashboard wherever you want.
